My hope and prayer is that you are not alone in facing your loss, pain, and grief. Please reach out to me, to a trusted friend, a loved one, somewhere that you are safe, a place where you can be held, heard, and seen, and a part of a loving community where the bearable becomes bearable. You, my beautiful sister, are not alone.

A blog post by Mirabai Star, author of Caravan of No Despair.

“As we breathed into the truth of what had happened in our lives, safe in the protective community we built together, we began to discover that the unbearable became bearable, that by whispering “yes” instead of screaming “no” and ineffable grace began to fill the space of our shattered hearts…

Try it. If you’ve tried it before, try it again. Find the smoldering ache of loss inside of you and soften into it. Allow yourself to gently and lovingly explore exactly what it feels like to hurt this way. With compassion for yourself, disarm your wounded heart and breathe quietly inside the wreckage—no need for fancy formulas or prescribed affirmations.

No goal. Just be. Right here. Inside the fire of grief.

One breath in front of the other.”

About Mikki Proffitt
My mission in life is to create a space where women like you can share your stories from a place of truth, vulnerability, and safety. Where you can be raw and real, without masks or pretense. You can come as you are, feel seen, heard, held, and witnessed without judgment, and be surrounded by love. As a woman whose own healing journey through childhood trauma, abuse, and addiction I have spent over three decades in a career of service to others as an addictions counselor, trauma-informed breathwork, grief movement, and EFT Practioner. My deepest desire is that my work helps women end their suffering as they remember who they are, reclaim their power, and reignite their purpose.

Once a week, I write about something important on the journey of recovery, followed by a question for you to explore those deeper parts of yourself and your heart.

Don’t allow your mind to tell your heart what to do, it gives up easily.
