Combining the practical tools of the 12 steps with the ancient wisdom of

movement, sound, and breath on your path of discovery in recovery.

What is Just Breathe?
Just Breathe is an innovative mind-and-body practice inspired by the Y12SR model, integrating yoga with 12-step recovery principles to address addiction relapse prevention. It effectively blends the practical tools of the 12-step program with the physical and spiritual practices of movement, sound, and breath.

This workshop invites you to imagine your breath as a  friend and ally, guiding you on the path to renewal and recovery. Each inhale is a step towards balance, and each exhale releases the hold of addiction. Breathwork can be a powerful ally, offering peace and self-connection on this healing journey.

Recovery—your own or a loved ones, whether from drugs, alcohol, codependency, food, or other challenges—is a difficult journey. But you don’t have to walk it alone. In our Just Breathe Workshop, you’ll find a supportive space to explore the transformative power of movement, sound, and breath—each serving as gateways to releasing the issues that are stored in your tissues while healing your body and mind.

During this two-hour immersion, you’ll discover how harnessing the power of movement, sound and breath can help you break free from addictive patterns, bringing a sense of calm and ease. Breath is more than just a necessity; it’s a gateway to healing.

By consciously engaging with your breath, combined with movement and sound you’ll find tools to ease physical and emotional pain and invite more peace and contentment into your life.

How it Works

Dual Approach: Y12SR combines a traditional 12-step-based discussion group with a physical movement practice. This model views addiction as a physical, mental, and spiritual dis-ease.

     • Y12SR suggests, “the issues live in our tissues,” meaning the body holds the burden of addiction, with
       effects becoming ‘stuck.’

     • Yoga’s combination of breath and movement can release what is held in our bodies.

Integrated Healing: The 12-step recovery model provides a cognitive, talking, and thinking practice, while yoga offers a somatic approach.

• Addiction creates separation and disconnection from families, communities, and the self.

• Yoga embodies ‘union’ or ‘integration,’ merging breath and movement to restore connection.

Who Is This For?

Open to anyone dealing with addiction—whether personal or experiencing the effects of others’ addictive behaviors.

     • An inclusive and welcoming group where all forms of addiction (‘All A’s’) are embraced.

     • Ideal for anyone on a personal path of discovery in recovery.
